KC Gems – The Enduring Kachina Cultures of the American Southwest
Feb 4 – 1:30 pm | In Person in the SPARK Classroom or Online via Zoom
This presentation explores the “theatrical” dance traditions of Zuni & Hopi Pueblos of NM, and Pasqua Yaqui of Tucson AZ. Gene works closely with Tribal Councils and cultural centers such as the Casa de Santo Niño de Zuni. Cultural artifacts from these peoples will be used to explore and explain multiple, astonishing and enduring dramatic artforms. This presentation will be in the form of engaging open discussion.
