Week 3 (June 22nd) will be a trip to the Royals Hall of Fame and other stadium features.
June 8 to June 29 (4 weeks) | Wednesdays, 1:30 to 3:30pm
This class is a must for any person new to baseball, new to the Kansas City area, or a baseball fan who just likes to learn/talk about baseball. We will cover a broad range of baseball information from professional baseball to the neighborhood games found everywhere in the metropolitan area. The class will use large group lectures, fun trivia quizzes, a memory project and more. A representative for the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum will present on class period. A field trip to the Royals Hall of Fame will be held on week 3 (June 22nd).
Instructors: Ann Hauser and Craig Muller
Ann Hauser is a retired school psychologist who grew up playing ball with her three brothers near a small town in Southeast Kansas. Summer evenings were spent listening to the radio as the Knasa City Athletics played ball. Later, it was the Kansas City Royals. She currently lives in Overland Park and enjoys attending Royals games and an occasional Monarchs game. She has been know to attend a baseball game while on opera trips. She is interested in the cultural side of baseball.
Craig Muller grew up in Humboldt, KS on a dairy farm. He graduated from Pittsburg State in 1981 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and an MBA. He is a CPA and spent 38 years in the financial services industry and worked in KC for Price Waterhouse, DST and Midland Loan Services, He retired in 20218 and enjoys spending time with his 2 grandsons, golfing and working part-time as a youth baseball umpire and basketball referee. He’s also on the board of Supreme Task International (missionary organization serving India) and the Johnson County chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
