Kansas City Gems: Gender Equity Task Force of the KC Human Rights Commission (Tues, 10/4 PM)

Tuesday, 10/4 from 1:30-3:30

 

The new Gender Equity Task Force under the Kansas City Human Rights Commission has a threefold focus:

  • women in decision making roles,
  • pay equity and
  • reducing gender-based violence.

Task Force members are working in small groups to document the needs, discrimination where it exist, and to determine the best practice model to recommend for action.

 

Alice Kitchen is a social worker, activist, community organizer, and Chair of the Missouri American Association of University Women Public Policy Committee, UMKC School of Social Work Adjunct Professor. Commissioner of the Jackson County Mental Health Fund, past Commissioner of the KC Housing Authority and other notable local community involvements
