Well, SPARK friends, we’ve reached the end of Fall Quarter, and what a quarter it was.
We learned about the Crusades and China, dug into the history of Kansas City’s abandoned buildings, and looked at movies with brand-new eyes. We gathered around the Mah Jongg table, met up in book clubs, and got out and about with KC Gems and our cemetery and museum tours. Some of us even spent an afternoon with Bobby Dylan. Not bad for a few weeks, right?
Thank you to our wonderful instructors and thank you to every one of you who showed up curious. You’re the reason this place feels the way it does.
Before we said our official goodbye to Fall, we had one last “bonus” gathering, and it’s a fun one. Steve Lopes lectured on how rock and roll is remembered across the generations, from folks who were there the first time around to the ones just discovering it. We had a few new faces in the classroom!
Good News: Your Favorites Are Coming Back
Here’s the part we’re excited about. Lots of our most popular courses will be back for Winter Quarter, along with some new classes and new faces.
Winter Quarter runs January 11 through February 19, 2027, six weeks of classes. The Winter catalog is in the works, and we’ll send it your way as soon as it’s ready. Heads up: the good ones fill up fast, so keep an eye on your inbox and/or mailbox!
Wherever you joined us this fall, in a classroom, on a tour, at a club table, or on Zoom from your living room, thank you for being part of SPARK. We’re already counting down to January.
