Sample The SPARK Summer 2023 Offerings:

The SPARK Flossie Pack Center for Lifelong Learning (SPARK) is an affiliate of University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) and a member of the Kansas City Black Study Group.  SPARK classes have no prerequisites, no tests and you do not receive credits.  We are community of learners who just love to learn!

We would like to introduce you to our program with a special offer on selected classes that reflects a 50% savings for current Kansas City Black Study Group members. The  selected slate of courses are “hybrid” giving you the option to attend in person or online and are available to members of the Kansas City Black History Group to enjoy at a discounted rate!

You can click on the title below to read more about the class.

Registration is straight forward and our system allows you to enroll online and either pay using a credit card or choose to mail a check to our Post Office Box.

A few pointers to make the process easy!

  • We use the PayPal system to process credit and debit card payments.  You don’t need a PayPal account to use the system.  Simply scroll past the log in information and click on Pay with Debit or Credit Card.  You will then be redirected to a typical payment screen.
  • Payments by check need to be sent to SPARK, PO Box 300362, Kansas City, MO  64130
  • Once your payment has been received you will get an email with your Zoom log in information.  You may need to enter your name and email address the first time you log into one of our classes.  Check your SPAM/JUNK folder if it isn’t in your Inbox.

If you have trouble or need assistance, our SPARK staff are here to help!  Email spark@umkc.edu to schedule a time to work with someone via phone, email or Zoom.
