How did Frances Perkins become one of the most significant persons for social change in the 20th century and what were the challenges she overcame? Her key achievements: the Social Security Act of 1935 and she played a crucial role in crafting New Deal legislation. Jane’s talk is based on Stephanie Dray’s book Becoming Madame Secretary.
