We begin at Kelly’s, the oldest building in Kansas City, at the center of Westport where the city began on the Santa Fe Trail.
Our guide is Marty Wiedenmann Jarvis, President of the Westport Historical Society, whose family owned the building for generations.
Then we stroll a few blocks up Westport Road to visit the Harris-Kearney House and learn about founding Westport families and other residents.
This tour will be on Friday, October 10 from 1:30–3:00 pm and limited to 15 participants.
You may park use free street parking in Westport and meet at Kelly’s on Westport Road and Pennsylvania which is our first tour location. Then we will walk east on Westport Road and end at the Harris-Kearney House at 4000 Baltimore. At the conclusion of our time at the Harris –Kearney House, you can walk back to your car.
Alternatively, you can park in the free lot at the Harris-Kearney House and walk down to our starting point at Kelly’s. The distance between the two locations is 0.3 miles.
